As we soak up the last stretch of summer, it’s the perfect time for a little inbox refresh. This month’s update introduces smarter email controls that give your users more choice in what communications they receive, without sacrificing the messages you need them to see. From streamlined opt-outs to clearer message types, it’s all about keeping communication clean, simple, and in your hands. Read below to find out more!

New Features

Email Unsubscribe & Essential Emails

We’ve added new email user preference settings that give users more control over what lands in their inbox, while still making sure you can reach them when it really matters. With a single click, users can now opt out of non-essential emails (more on that below) without losing access to their account or test opportunities. A new "Receive updates via email" setting, found in each user’s My Preferences, controls whether they get general updates (such as Ted emails and other project emails not marked as essential), and it’s turned on by default.

Every Centercode email now includes a footer that clearly shows why the user received it, whether it’s considered essential, and how to unsubscribe if it’s not.

As an admin, you can now explicitly mark outgoing emails as "essential," which overrides user preferences when necessary. And don’t worry, emails sent directly to individual users (like password resets) are always treated as essential by default.

These new tools make it easier to respect user preferences and ensure your critical messages still get through, giving you more clarity, control, and confidence every time you hit "send!"

Fixes

Integrations

User Interface & Experience

  • Back end corrections were made to prevent instances of top menu bar load/display problems.

Miscellaneous

  • A special character encoding issue in certain mac file names was corrected.
Fixes

Data Engine & Custom Reports

  • Corrected a data issue with CDE columns pertaining to state/province and country.
  • Corrected an issue when exporting data via user/feedback management or direct form export.
  • Certain navigation pathways when creating and modifying filters will no longer present misleading filter previews.

We have officially entered BBQ season, and here at Centercode we’ve been grilling up a Data Engine feast that’ll spice up how you work with data. Whether you're slicing through filters like brisket or serving up the perfect view, this functional revamp brings fresh workflows and brand new feature flavors!

And coming to GoEarly this month we've got two new user-requested features you won't want to miss, and as always, it's never too late to get signed up for our GoEarly program!

New Features

Filter/View UI & Functionality Revamp

Without any further delay, let's get to the real (perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection) meat of this month's update! We’re rolling out a major revamp of the Data Engine interface designed to transform how you explore and interact with data across the platform. Whether you're building reports, reviewing feedback, managing users, or configuring your community, any place where filters and views come into play is getting a serious upgrade.

Modern Navigation & Search

No more scrolling through a giant list of elements looking for the data you know is in there somewhere! The updated UI supports both structured browsing and a lightning-fast global search, so whether you know exactly what you're looking for or you're just exploring, you’ll get there faster. And that's not all! We've got good news for your poor tired index finger, you can now add an entire category of data to your view with the click of a button!

Archived Data Toggle

Need to dig up old fields or review retired feedback types? With our new archived data toggle, you can include previously hidden data in any filter or view, perfect for referencing legacy items without clutter.

Clear PII Visibility & Controls

Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is now clearly flagged throughout the Data Engine, and we’ve added a one-click control to strip PII from any view. It’s never been easier to prep reports for external sharing or ensuring internal compliance.

"Starts with" or "Ends With" filter criteria

In addition to the new look and feel of the filter/view UI, we've added a few more tools to the toolbox! The two new filter criteria, “Starts with” and “Ends with", give you more precise control when building filters in the Data Engine. These additions help streamline data slicing, especially when working with structured naming conventions or pattern-based data, making your filters more powerful and your results more relevant than ever before!

Centercode GoEarly features

Email Unsubscribe and failed login lockout

This GoEarly batch brings two key user-requested updates focused on user trust and platform security! First, all Centercode emails will now contain an Unsubscribe link that allows users to opt-out of all "non-essential" community and project emails (as well as adding the ability for Project managers to indicate which emails are considered "essential"). Second, we’ve added an account lockout feature that automatically locks a user’s account after multiple failed login attempts, adding an extra layer of protection against unauthorized access. Get signed up now and get access to try these features out early!

Fixes

Form Engine

  • Form elements containing an apostrophe are now removable from both the list and overview admin pages (previously only removable from overview).

Miscellaneous

  • An unusual user preview sequence was corrected to ensure it no longer breaks the user session.
Fixes

User Authentication & SSO

  • Adjustments were made to how we handle new SSO logins under a community configuration without a default recruitment source.
Fixes

Form Engine & Custom Surveys

  • Work was done to address draft storing when using the Centercode visual editor field, this should be far more consistent now!
